My family is all grown up. I’m the youngest out of my immediate family, so we have long tossed aside many of the younger games we enjoyed when I was a kid. Thank goodness for the recent boom in adult-targeted board games that put Hungry Hungry Hippos to shame, and I’m not talking about all the raunchy ones like Card Against Humanity either, just good ole mature fun. If your family is like mine, here are some entertainment ideas that your adult family can enjoy together this holiday season!
Halloween is gonna be here before you know it and in my expert opinion, it’s time to bust out the horror films and get the house decorated. I was looking through lists like “The Top 100 Halloween Movies” or “The Best Halloween Movies of All Time” and I feel like there were a lot of my favorites missing. So here is a list of Halloween movies that are considered classics and a must watch for my family and me.
Stop waiting for the next film to come to Redbox or DVD and try something new (or would it be old?). Just because a film is older doesn’t mean its story lost value. If you are new here, these posts are about movies that maybe you missed when they came out and never got around to watching them, weren’t allowed to watch them growing up, or never even heard of them. These are five films from the 2000’s or earlier that I love and encourage you to give a try (I promise you’ll love at least something on this list).
This is a doozy, so grab a drink (apple juice or otherwise) and get ready to laugh at how stupid we
were are. Here is the story of how we almost destroyed Derek’s college career because we wanted a stupid couch.
It’s already been a month since my last movies post, can you believe it?! These are by far my favorite to write, and I’m so glad it is time for another installment. If you are new here, this little series on the blog is dedicated to sharing movies from the past. Maybe you have seen them, maybe you haven’t. Either way, these are great movies you may have missed, may not have even been alive for their release, or maybe you have long forgotten about them (and should totally give them a rewatch in that case).
This is a long one, so buckle up and bring a snack! In this podcast, we detail the life and adventures of living above an adult club.
*Trumpet Noises* I am very excited to announce that Derek and I have started a podcast. Now, this is a loose definition of ‘podcast’ that I am using. What we will be doing for this series is sitting down and telling each other stories in a designated category. We try to tell ones neither of us has heard before to keep it interesting, but some stories are just too good to not share again!
For all those movies you weren’t allowed to watch as a kid or for those movie references you don’t always get but want to, this is the list for you. This monthly installment gives you five movies from the 80’s to the 2000’s that you may have never heard of or just let slip through the cracks of your ‘to watch’ list. Get some popcorn and let’s get started!
