Who doesn’t love a holiday flavored drink? This shake has it all with creamy vanilla ice cream, crushed ginger snaps, and sticky sweet molasses all blended with a bit of bourbon. A truly classic holiday flavor made boozy, and perfect for a night in or to serve at a party.

The Gluten-Free Skeptic: The Best Gluten-Free Sugar Cookies Ranked
Sugar cookies are always a fun holiday treat. They are simple, fun to decorate, and an activity you can get the whole family in on. There aren’t many gluten-free (GF) sugar cookie options out there. I scoured the internet and looked for weeks at local stores and all I scrounged up were three options. However, after some digging, it looks like these are the only ones that are readily available year round. So which cookies are worth the buy and which should never make it into the cart?

P.S. Love Mom: Marshmallow Popcorn Balls
If you are a fan of the sweet and salty flavor combination, this is the perfect treat for you. Buttered popcorn wrapped in gooey marshmallow and filled with whatever candy you desire (my favorite is peanut M&M’s). This recipe is as easy as rice Krispies but personally, I think they are a whole lot better (seriously rice Krispies, you better watch your back).

Sugared Orange Cranberries
Tart cranberries soaked in an orange simple syrup and rolled in orange zest and sugar, what more could you want? These are effortless to make and an incredible treat to eat. They sort of burst in your mouth on the first chew. I say sorta because they aren’t like a Gusher, but they still have a little pop. Plus, you only need 3 ingredients! Orange, cranberries and sugar… and water if you want to count that.

P.S. Love Mom: Pumpkin Pie (A Passed Down Recipe)
Pumpkin pie, the quintessential fall dessert that has somehow snuck its way into three holidays and I am certainly not complaining. This was/is a family favorite for us (which almost all in this series are, but this one was made the most often). My mother would make this for holidays, just because, and most importantly my sisters birthday (October babies unite). This recipe is relatively easy compared to the other recipes I’ve read (some pumpkin gymnastics people be tryin’ to pull), and it will be a showstopper, promise.

A New Take On Dessert: Warm Shakes for the Cold Season
Alright, I know it sounds weird but hear me out: this dessert is like a milkshake meets pudding meets the desire for something warm. It is basically a thin warm pudding made up to act and drink like a milkshake. It is ah-mazing. It has the thickness of a milkshake (and you could add all the same toppings and flavors to it as well), but it’s warm and creamy like a pudding. At first, when I came up with this idea, Derek thought I was being crazy again (like the time I tried to convince him we should melt gummy bears and chocolate together to make caramel), but after trying it, he’s hooked. This is the perfect dessert for a cold day that is truly decadent and indulgent like a shake.

The Gluten Free Skeptic: Best Gluten-Free Brownie Mixes, RANKED
I have never tried a premade gluten-free (GF) mix before this. I see them everywhere and I feel like every day a new one enters the battlefield that is GF. While on a recent trip to the grocery store I found an overwhelming amount of brownie mixes. There were six all in one store. It got me thinking, with all the choices and the huge range in price, how can anyone pick just one? Well, that’s what I’m here for! I tried, described, and ranked eight of the most popular GF brownie mixes.

Life is Short, Eat More Food: Trying Halo-Halo
Hello, Lovelies! I hope you are all doing wonderfully. I have a brand new series starting today (this post is it)! This little series will be dedicated to trying new food, exploring cultures, and inviting you to do the same. Life is too short to not explore the world around us. This little series will be about just that — exploring new foods. I strongly believe that trying food is a great way to “travel” without all the expense and time. I mean, think about it, besides shopping and sightseeing why do we travel? FOR FOOD!! So go out into your town and see what there is around you, you don’t have to travel to be connected to the world around you, you just need an open mind and a willingness to try! If you need some ideas on great food to look for or maybe you are like me and need a nudge to try new things, well… that’s what I’m here for! Every second and fourth Monday of each month will be dedicated to exploring a new food and reporting back to you. Let’s get started!

A Classic Mudslide Milkshake Recipe (gluten-free)
Ladies and Gents, dust off your blender and put the kids to bed early! We’re gonna have some adult time (not that kind of adult time, I’m trying to be family friendly here) because we’re making MUDSLIDES as a MILKSHAKE. I hope your cheat day is today because you’re gonna need it. If you ain’t got plans to go shopping you better make some so you can pick up these ingredients and get your drink on (you’re my kinda person if you happen to have all ingredients on hand). This milkshake is delicious, boozy and pumped full of chocolate, what more could you want?

Matcha + Lemonade Frozen Yogurt Recipe (Copycat Pinkberry)
Yup. I jumped on the matcha train, and I’m gonna ride the darn thing until it crashes and burns. I am obsessed, to say the least. This frozen yogurt is a pretty darn close replica of the Pinkberry recipe if I do say so myself. If you have no idea what Pinkberry is and think I’m talking about strawberries, I’ll describe the flavor that is this magical frozen dessert. This frozen yogurt is a not too sweet, tangy perfection kissed with a matcha flavor that pairs beautifully with the lemon. I think the matcha, lemon, and sugar balance extremely well in this recipe and is quickly becoming my favorite dessert flavor. It’s the perfect tart and sweet combo that I never knew could exist. Plus, you can make this recipe without an ice cream maker.

Four Not So Boring Popsicle Recipes for Summer! (gluten free, dairy free, vegan)
I love popsicles, but sometimes I want more than a random fruit flavor from the store. These four flavors are perfect for summer and are targeted to a more ‘adult’ palette. Plus, these four recipes are all relatively easy to make and can be adjusted to fit your sugar needs.
