Our cats are jerks. I love them to death, don’t get me wrong, but they’re little jerks. We have two cat trees in our house and I have sacrificed and retired many a wall decoration due to their mischief behavior. At one point one of the little brats looked me in the eye as they knocked a glass shadow box to its end.Continue reading “Cat-Friendly DIY Scratching Wall Decor for Cat Trees”

What We Eat in a Week – Successfully Eating Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, and Egg-Free (15+ Recipes)
Oh, holy cow you guys. I think I might be allergic to dairy (cue sarcastic half-hearted woo’s). I currently am working on eating dairy-free and egg-free (already an allergen I just didn’t take it as seriously as I should’ve) for the next four weeks to test the waters, and we’ve been gluten-free for a couple years now. When thinking of going dairy-free it sounded really daunting, not gonna lie.

Cheesy Bacon and Ham Breakfast Loaf (Gluten-Free and Egg-Free)
This recipe gives you a delicious combination of a quiche and breakfast sandwich all baked into one, and EVERY bite is like that. The cheese creates little puddles of goodness throughout the loaf and if you reheat a slice in an oven, toaster oven, or air fryer, the whole outside becomes a toasty cheesy shell and it’s ah-mazing. However, that is not the end to this beautiful piece of art, it also tastes freshly baked when reheated, like c’mon, how much better can this bread be??

Why Air Fryers Are the Perfect Gift
Are you still looking for that last minute gift to get someone that has it all? I have yet to find a person that an Air Fryer isn’t the perfect git for (okay, I guess if I really thought about it I could find a few). Anyways, this is the best no-brainer gift to get that couple you’ve never really pinned down, to bring to a white elephant gift exchange (depending on the agreed-upon limit), or for any other friends and family you have yet to cross off your list.
Boozy Molasses Cookies and Milk Shake
Who doesn’t love a holiday flavored drink? This shake has it all with creamy vanilla ice cream, crushed ginger snaps, and sticky sweet molasses all blended with a bit of bourbon. A truly classic holiday flavor made boozy, and perfect for a night in or to serve at a party.
Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Caps
Who doesn’t love an easy recipe that also looks spectacular? These mallow caps are perfect to give as gifts, offer at a hot cocoa bar, eat plain, or to cap your favorite drink. Plus, the flavor combinations are endless! You don’t have to make your own marshmallow either, I mean, can this recipe be any simpler?
Games and Movies for an Adult Holiday Get Together (My Family’s Favorites)
My family is all grown up. I’m the youngest out of my immediate family, so we have long tossed aside many of the younger games we enjoyed when I was a kid. Thank goodness for the recent boom in adult-targeted board games that put Hungry Hungry Hippos to shame, and I’m not talking about all the raunchy ones like Card Against Humanity either, just good ole mature fun. If your family is like mine, here are some entertainment ideas that your adult family can enjoy together this holiday season!

P.S. Love Mom: Peanut Butter Balls (A Longtime Passed Down Recipe)
Soft and chewy peanut butter wrapped around crispy cornflake cereal makes this a sweet and salty treat to die for. This recipe is perfect for anyone that wants to start getting into candy making and has little to no experience working with sugar. It only requires 4 ingredients for addicting little balls of pure bliss. These things are also great for giving out as gifts and you could easily make a small army of little peanut butter balls in an afternoon.

Milk Chocolate Potato Chip Bark Recipe
Salty, sweet, and chocolatey, what’s not to love? This is a simple treat to throw together with only two ingredients and tastes ah-mazing. Salty and sweet is a classic and delicious combo but the crunch from the potato chips just puts this candy over the top. You don’t even need to temper the chocolate because it tempers as you make the bark! This is an effortless recipe anyone can make (even kids) and is great for gifts.

The Gluten-Free Skeptic: The Best Gluten-Free Sugar Cookies Ranked
Sugar cookies are always a fun holiday treat. They are simple, fun to decorate, and an activity you can get the whole family in on. There aren’t many gluten-free (GF) sugar cookie options out there. I scoured the internet and looked for weeks at local stores and all I scrounged up were three options. However, after some digging, it looks like these are the only ones that are readily available year round. So which cookies are worth the buy and which should never make it into the cart?

P.S. Love Mom: Marshmallow Popcorn Balls
If you are a fan of the sweet and salty flavor combination, this is the perfect treat for you. Buttered popcorn wrapped in gooey marshmallow and filled with whatever candy you desire (my favorite is peanut M&M’s). This recipe is as easy as rice Krispies but personally, I think they are a whole lot better (seriously rice Krispies, you better watch your back).

How to Take Your Advent Calendars to the Next Level (stuffer ideas)
Recently, it has come to my attention that most store-bought advent calendars in America are lame. Either they are filled with cheap and cruddy chocolate, made purely for kids, or very very expensive. Not in my house. I want the extravagant calendar filled with amazing treats but don’t want to break the bank. I want something besides chocolate (or something at least better than waxy chocolate) and that I’ll actually like or use after. So that’s what I do. I make our calendars customized to each person. Sometimes I make it go with their main Christmas gift and then really take the whole thing to the next level. Here are 15+ ideas on how to create the best advent calendar geared toward adults (but teens and such may like ’em too).
